VI ER HAV – an audio experience at sea off Langeland

Listen whilst sailing in the South Funen Archipelago

VisitLangeland recommends WE ARE THE SEA for those who want to experience something truly special on the water. Here, the ferry journey is transformed into an atmospheric audio journey with stories and music created specifically for sailing routes in the South Funen Archipelago. The works can be heard for free via the BaggårdTeatret app.

Rudkøbing – Strynø as an audio journey

On the route between Rudkøbing and Strynø, you can experience a lyrical narrative that moves between the sea, the climate, the submerged Stone Age forest and stories of loss and discovery. The journey becomes a peaceful and thought-provoking experience, where landscape and sound merge.

Art and culture on the ferry journey

Behind VI ER HAV is the artist group 3005 Havet. Writers, musicians and actors with links to the area have created the works, so the experience has clear roots in the South Funen Archipelago. This provides a vivid cultural experience that fits perfectly with a holiday in Denmark.

More routes with audio stories

VI ER HAV can also be experienced on other sailing routes in the South Funen Archipelago. If you sail from Rudkøbing to Marstal, a medieval tale awaits about Thoralf, born on Ærø and now returned to help the monks spread Christianity. The story gives the ferry journey a historical perspective and creates an atmospheric journey between the islands.

Practical information

The audio walks will premiere on 13 June 2026 and will be accessible to everyone digitally and free of charge. The audio stories can be listened to via the BaggårdTeatret app, so remember to bring your mobile phone and headphones for the best experience. The ferries have accessible facilities, making the trip possible for many visitors, and Rudkøbing is easily reached by public transport from the rest of Funen. It is recommended to check sailing timetables before departure
