Project description: REACT – The best resort for modern active costal holiday of the North

Short description

Naturturisme I/S is the lead partner of REACT, which is a large and ambitious tourism project that runs over three years from 2015 til 2018 where we, together with 11 other Danish and German partners, will create “The best resort for modern active costal holiday of the North”.
REACT is the largest and most visionary Danish-German collaborative project seen for many years. It is the largest Baltic cooperation regarding tourism and a so called Baltic project under the EU-program Interreg 5A. The development cooperation is focusing on five themes: Water sports, fishing, cycling, hiking and beach life.

Background and Purpose

REACT occurred because of Naturturisme I/S’ focus on developing Special Interest Tourism. This actively interest-built form of holiday is especially interesting because of its huge potential in pulling more and other types of tourists to the area and expanding the season. With the Danish-German Baltic project the goal is to make Det Sydfynske Øhav (The South Funen Archipelago) the ”Outdoor Area no. 1” and ”playground” for sustainable and active forms of tourism like hiking and cycling.

Possibilities and Advantages

With our efforts across the border, we are creating a new cross border destination and a believable story of the western Baltic’s unique possibilities as a holiday area for modern, active travellers, who seek the nature and the culture. At the same time, the collaborators share knowledge and experiences throughout the shores of the region, and we secure the impact with new marketing actions on selected markets.
