Vesteraas shelterplads

This utterly unique shelters are located on Ærø’s west coast, right where Eskebækken runs into the sea, north-west of Voderup Klint.

The area has rich flora and fauna. Find peace and enjoy seeing the nightingale and the woodcock, as many as 4 orchid species and, in the late autumn, trout which pull up in order to spawn in the creek. On the south-facing hillside live rare species such as sand lizards and the golden ground beetle. The only thing making noise here is the sea. The place is run by Nils Ørum who is operating the Vesteraas farm, and also offers several exciting things to do in the area.
